What started as a chance try, led to the setup/up-gradation of libraries in 8 schools in Kolar Dist.
Thanks to our individual and corporate donors and with the constant support of Pratham Books, we were able to touch ~336 children with ~670 new, best-quality and well-suited books.
All the schools have promised to set-up a lending process where they issue a book to the kids to take home for a certain time (1 week or 15 days) and return it after that.
Apart from this, the children are free to pick a book for reading, within the school time and premises, during lunch hours.
The books are well suited and sorted according to 4 reading levels to suit each group of class.
The categories were ranging from Read-Aloud, Environment, Life-skills, Folktales, Biographies, Fantasy, STEM, Humor, Adventure & Mystery, History & Culture, Plays & Poems, Family and Friends, Sports and Futuristic.
Their vast catalogue proved quite a challenge for us to choose and select.
Vidhyadaanam was happy to sponsor for a display shelf, made locally, for Kallavihosahalli school.

Also, we had requested the schools to send us some pictures of their weekly distribution/borrowing ledger and the schools are more than happy to share them, every week, religiously.

We would be happy to accept any more of such books, new or used/refurbished, shelves for setting up libraries in another schools.
