Events: 2018

A discrete mail will be sent to the donors with the details.

A beautiful day begins with a beautiful mindset. Imagine what 60 such mindsets could achieve. 9th the Saturday was unlike any typical ones, as this team that aged from 18 months to 65 years, were up, ready and pumped by 5am. We started off by 7 am and this wonderful journey already taught us about the destination. A quick breakfast, while the “muscles” sorted out the supplies and logistics, and off were the warriors to their designed schools. While the teams designated for distribution of books, dived right into sorting and stacking the resources, the medical check-up team quickly set-up their testing equipment and assigned the right responsibilities to the respective individuals. The Yoga team quickly sorted their infrastructure issues for the presentation. At Hulkur, As and when the kids finished with their check-ups, they joined the teams teaching football and soon, it resulted in a play-off between the two teams. The other kids witnessed the science demo. The fun-teams at Thatenahalli, NG Hulkur and Nernahalli had the kids engaged, drained and smiling from ear-to-ear by the time they received their medals and wrapped up. The open quiz served as a good opportunity to bag some toys and chocolates. The teams which visited Suvarnhalli and Kalavihosalli were in for a cultural treat from kids. The two teams that covered Ramasagara, Gopenahalli, Budidhimitta, Vengasandra and Dasenehalli stayed engrossed in distribution of books and other materials. The 10th grade students received career counselling for an hour. A quick wrap-up and rendezvous at the farm for lunch. We realized that a hungry stomach and tired limbs can find much solace in a simple south-indian lunch in a thatched hut. A few pictures in the farm, and we set off for a stroll around the lake. The much awaited hot snack, tea and coffee that made us loathe the thought of driving back to Bangalore. As the battalion set-off, the tired souls drifted to slumber while others shared and discussed about their contended day. No pay, no applause, no pat-on-the backs. Just committed hearts.
