Some events are meant to become memories and some, experiences
26-June was one such a day for this bubbling team of 26.
The enthusiastic bunch met on the dot (7:15am), had breakfast and reached Ramasagara even before they opened for the day.
Mr. weather was all co-operative with not much sun and no rain. It was quite cool and windy.
After a quick huddle, the enthusiastic young bloods comprising of Akshay, Lavanya, Prasad, Yatish, Rachana, Kiran, Sushmitha (fun group) split to conduct games for the kids while the book-distribution were being setup.
Meanwhile, Mahesh, Harish, Ponraj, Chandru and Guru setup everything required for the books and sports distribution. The kids, after receiving their books, went on to play fun games arranged.
Kiran V, Elan and Guru started setting up their equipment for capturing the colossal day.
The team participating in the air powered car competition looked all tensed and anxious which was very well handled by Shruthi and Ali.
Amira’s hygiene talk was soul-stirring and the girls were all teary eyed by the time she finished. Add that to a little pep talk by Tapasya and the girls came out of the classroom all pumped up.
The teachers, students and other volunteers were kept busy by Mansoor while he collected the feedback and learnings.
Meanwhile, Amirtha Raj circled up the kids for a session on football. His enthusiasm proved contagious and spilled over to the kids.
Mahesh, Harish, Mansoor and Tapasya arranged for the sports prize distribution while the children assembled back to receive them.
After a brief hiccup (the common accident on field), the team finished up and proceeded for lunch. Sandeep drove the girls to aid.
A varied , outdoor lunch topped with freshly plucked mangoes. Yum !!!
While everyone finished eating, the books and stationery were divided into 3 cars, one to Gopenahalli, one to Thathenahalli and the other to Vengasandra.
After lunch, We split into 3 groups –
The team in Thathenahalli conducted an open round of quiz after the book distribution.
While the team in Gopenahalli distributed the books and sped back to Vengasandra.
The team in Vengasandra finished with the book distribution and had a jolly time playing games with the kids. Prakash, who drove-in and joined us, took up a session of the car competition, while the others came back from Thathenahalli and Gopenahalli.
After a session of “huff”s and “phew”s, we proceeded to the farm for some nature time. An educative tour of mangoes and silkworms by our local guides Abhi and Yeshwanth.
The splash of fresh water on the face, along with hot coffee/tea proved refreshing.
A round of “thank-you”s and “bye”s and all the 5 cars set-off towards home.
With all the little smiles still buzzing around our heads, everybody were home by 10:30pm for dinner.

- Number of Schools covered – 23 with ~ 1162 students.
- Awards for the meritorious, winners in sport events, SSLC toppers.
- Books – 4708 (includes short, long, 2-line, 4-line and Slates)
- Stationery – Pack of 1 pen, pencil, eraser, ruler and sharpener to ~ 850 children.
- Sports kits to all schools
- Up gradation of Solar Light – Rs. 6,000
- Aid to Hemanth (the engineering student) – Rs. 5000 (Yet to be handed over).
