Events: 2019

Hello Friends,

Have you ever experienced a day that starts off well, ends well, remains in your memories and yet, stays close to your heart ? We did, on June-8th-2019.
All thanks to the diligent volunteers who made sure everything, right from the “wake-up calls” to the “reached home” messages, was spot on time.
Though rain had stormed the place, previous night, Mr. Sun co-operated and remained golden, through the day, for us. This made way for dank playgrounds but pleasant cool weather.
The battalion of 50 people, with kids, promptly finished their scrumptious breakfast and headed out as 9 teams to their assigned locations.
The veterans started the show and the tyros jumped in to steal it.
The kids, who expected outdoor fun-activities, were pleasantly stupefied to hear about the drawing and quiz competitions.
As they scampered for colours, the books and stationery were aligned for distribution. An on-spot decision and awards for the winners.
The salad-gang made sure the kids were thoroughly enthralled and did not miss a chance to allow them to portray their flair in singing or dance.
A few teams stayed awestruck by the way the schools were setup and maintained.
Did you know: There was a school which was painted to look like a passenger train from Indian Railways. From engine to bird-guards. Pics are in the album.
A quick round of selfies and the gangs set off for lunch. Simple, home-cooked, south-Indian, amidst mango trees. A feed-back sharing session, drew the curtain over the simmering noon.
A tranquil walk with contended hearts and cloaked simpers. Hot coffee to vivify the soul.
A pleasure-filled “thank you”s and “meet-you-again”s to start the journey back home.

Recap:
32 schools gathered at 9 locations with ~950 students, ~7600 books and ~1000 stationery kits
2 laptops received as donation, given to the teachers at two schools.
1 purifier donated for potable water
Belts and Ties for 80 kids
42″ TV setup for Smart-Class in one school
